It's always a pleasure to read your ride reports!

Yes indeed, Spring Break week has had some interesting weather!

KevinKevinhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02746408242501646563noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35500908.post-82375207202310581852008-04-01T14:35:00.000-07:002008-04-01T14:35:00.000-07:00Hoping to make out like Shackleton is grim, indeed...Hoping to make out like Shackleton is grim, indeed. Let me add a couple of practical pointers for Randonneurs.

After passing the Timber summit, it's a short drop to those awful railway tracks. But the bends are shaded, and water runs from the roadcut across the pavement. Watch for ice — of cousre, once you see it, it will be too late to brake.

Hopefully, when you get to ride back down Timber Road in the evening, the road will be dry. But don't ignore the 10 MPH snake-with-a-hat speed advisory. OK, 10 MPH is unnecessary, but the road is greasy with unburned diesel and there are potholes and gravel. Better to arrive a few minutes later than not at all.

AndrewThe Squirehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12179626199078932486noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-35500908.post-69478217245989908022008-03-31T21:50:00.000-07:002008-03-31T21:50:00.000-07:00brr. Bit warm and humid but I'll take it over 30s and roadside snow.brons2https://www.blogger.com/profile/06727321493116526519noreply@blogger.com
